I'm a newbie when it comes to flower gardening but I'm going with Yay!
I really love the orange lilies we have in our garden so I added some more orange to my seed order from Veseys.
This mix is called "Evening Glow" and I'm madly in love with it. They are impatiens and if all goes well will be planted in my window boxes.
I think they will look spectacular.
What do you think? Do you like orange flowers in the garden or do you believe they don't play nicely with other colours?
Before making a large flower bed in my front yard, I had a circle bed devoted to orange, red, and a few yellow flowers. After making the bed larger, I moved them around so that they would be here and there, and not all clumped together. Some people will have different sections in beds that have mostly one color in them.
ReplyDeleteThe way I see it, any color of flower is good, and we should judge flowers based on their character and not their color. If they are invasive, I don't have room for them.

Apparently it clashes with other colours. Whatever, I'm that particular with mixing colours.

I second your "yay"! I love bright, bold colours... used appropriately. Like in little punches, or in a bed with a restricted colour palate. I think mixed willy-nilly, however, it can look junky. Just sayin'.
