We bought 10 turkeys to raise for meat.  These are the standard feed store variety.
We put them out on pasture with out Cornish X chickens.

I've been trying to find out when to butcher them and how big they will be but Google isn't helping.

Anyone have any info for me?

We still have six of them left for sale.  Check out the Products and Services page for more info.

  1. I grew Bronze turkeys last year for the first time and ran into the same problem. Basically they can grow as big as you want them and will stay tender. I'm not sure how they grow compared to the Broad Breasted White, but they are not heritage breeds and got huge. We had them for about 16 weeks we think, not on pasture, but in a big fenced area and greens as well as free choice feed. They weighed in at 27-32#, way huge and hard to cook. I think I'll stop around 12-14 weeks this time.

  2. Awesome, thanks for the info.
