Sneak Peak-Former Dining Room

We repainted the dining room.  The one we did back in 2010.

It looked great back then but the kids pretty much trashed it.  We replaced the floor and then decided to repaint.  I have really bad luck with paint colours.  I pick a colour out and then it looks nothing like the chip.  Getting the right muted blue is particularly difficult.  The blues we had previously both turned out very babyish.  I tried again and ended up with full on grey, no clear undertones.

I bitched and whined and because it was a holiday and the stores were closed, I decided to just go with grey.  I'm glad we did because it look amazing.

It still needs another coat,  new doorknobs, and the living room and all the bookshelves need painting but it's coming together!  We also added crown moulding, new baseboard trim and new doors.

The dining is actually being moved to the sunroom.  This space is going to be an office for Limey's new construction business (anyone need their building sided?) and homeschool room for the kids.  At some point we'll be moving the wood stove in here but we have to reno the sunroom first.

I want to point out that the only reason this grey worked out so well is because we repainted the trim with a different white.  It's a much crisper (but not stark) white than we had before and it really cools down the grey.   The colours are powder white by Beauti-Tone and cashmere grey.
